Rekleiner
'Some People'
Side A: Original Mix
Side B: Daniel Stefanik Remix
The debut release from murmur records, a new project from Geddes, is an experience-driven experiment into the future of our musical landscape.
Rekleiner deliver ‘Some People’ - full-bodied and haunting - a record to awaken all senses. Gripping and atmospheric, complete with vocalised anti-drugs rant, delivering an electronic masterpiece beyond where Rekleiner have gone before.
Emphasising the subtleties of the original yet deepening its intensity, the second part of the EP is an atmospheric beauty, hypnotic and astute. Daniel Stefanik has been brought to everyone’s attention of late with his solo productions and string of acclaimed remixes for labels such as Vakant, Get Physical, Liebe Detail, Mobilee and Moon Harbour’s sublabel Cargo Edition which is devoted entirely to his own releases.
murmur records sets out to explore and capture new possibilities, bringing together and sharing new music that inspires us and those around us.
Geddes is the musical force behind the mulletover parties, now chief contributors to the creativity in London’s underground scene. He is also the backbone of the Rekleiner project alongside Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito. Past releases on Connaisseur and Moodmusic have forged their own identifiable sound, an amalgamation of deep, dubby techno beats complemented with subtle, ethereal melodies.
Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito have been propelled to the top of their game with a myriad of sought-after productions on Get Physical, Moodmusic and Kickboxer and global DJ dates.
'Some People' is driving and impulsive, the forces of a nouveau breed of techno with a pioneering sound that is simply irresistible.

Reclick & Nick Curly
'If U LIke EP'
Side A: If U Like
Side B1: Nick Curly - 'Amballo'
Side B2: Nick Curly - 'Katanga'
The second release from murmur records pairs the fresh talents of Reclick & Nick Curly. ‘If U Like’ reassesses where techno and house collide.
The title track ‘If U Like’ is a bubbling record with a compelling drive. Falling into a enticing hook and caught up with warm pads and surging basslines, the co-production attains allure and mischief. Nick Curly’s ‘Amballo’ rolls with a swagger, punctuated by claps and echoed sentiments, a charisma charged from its warmth and optimism.
Reclick’s ‘Katanga’ is full of drama and energy. Theatrical synths produce sweeping intensity while gentler strumming percussion cut across the tension. Hypnotic, charming and seeping with late night flavour. Reigniting the passion for house yet maintaining the sexiness of techno this EP marks the dawn of their amalgamation.
Reclick & Nick Curly are from Mannheim in Germany, close to the lesser-known musical mecca of the country, Frankfurt. Nick Curly began his career at the tender of age 15 when he became the resident DJ at the legendary Vibration Club in the Karlsruhe region of Germany.
Curly set up labels 8Bit and Cécille as a home for like-minded creatives alongside his own productions and has built a vast audience that identifies with its superior quality and style. Now playing regularly at Cocoon in Frankfurt and across Europe his productions are head-turning. His contemporary style blends a medley of influences and forges a dynamic sound.
murmur records was founded by Geddes in an attempt to venture into fresh sounds and share a new spirit of music for evolving times. It’s second release ‘If U Like’ welcomes an artist whose prominence is rising delivering an EP that welcomes an answer.

Bearweasel
'Orpington EP'
Side A: Pillow Down
Side B1: Wander Down (Dubshape Remix)
Side B2: Wander Down
The third release on the murmur imprint supports another rising star from our UK base.
Bearweasel have proved in their handful of productions to be one of the most refreshing production acts around. The Orpington EP further exposes their versatility, reaching into the depths of their influences and delivering two contemporary cuts paired with an inspired remix from Dubshape.
The EPs opener ‘Pillow Head’ is a track as mellow and warm as its namesake, drenched in supple beats and tingling sound. Wander Down steps up the game, weaving deep atmosphere through its layers of loops and grooves. The Dubshape remix adds menace to the track, laced with foghorns and rolling melodies, the results of each cut are diverse and uniquely appealing. Dubshape, aka Ale Reis and Joao Lee, are residents at two of the world’s best nightspots, Warung and D-Edge in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a place where they gather influence from the surrounding burgeoning scene and have built a dynamic sound.
Bearweasel are Dean Muhsin and Louisa Page, from the North and South of England respectively. A chance meeting in 2007 led to an understanding of a shared love of dub-infused house, intricate percussion and strangely, wildfowl. Previous productions on Audiofly’s Supernature label and the UK’s Tsuba imprint have seen support from a vast array of DJs from 2000 And One through to Akufen and Peace Division. Not content with making one style or sound within house music, the duo intend on displaying every facet of the rich genre in their productions.
Muhsin, a DJ for almost 15 years has held residencies at Sheffield clubbing institutions The Plug and Urban Gorilla, had previous roles as A&R for the Adrift and Kingsize record labels (home to Chicken Lips and Phil Kieran) and currently heads up Dispersion pr and co-runs the Hairy Claw label. Page also treads the music pr day-job path but its after the lights go out that the Bearweasel story really begins.
Citing influences ranging from Kraftwerk through to Basic Channel via Talking Heads and house pioneers like Mood II Swing, it's easy to see why pigeon-holing Bearweasel would be a problem. Their tracks fuse deep house, jazz samples, live percussion and contemporary production to create quite individual sounds.
Craig Torrance & Philip Hochstrate
'The Thoroughfare'
Side A: Original Mix
Side B: SiS Remix
‘The Thoroughfare’ EP is a prime example of the beauty possible in modern house music, delivering a milestone release from murmur records.
Craig Torrance & Philip Hochstrate are matched with a remix from man of the moment Sis. ‘The Thoroughfare’ is a nod to the new deep sound, pushing house music to a new level with melody, groove and drama.
The remix comes from Sis whose music is stirring the dance music pot globally through releases on Ricardo Villalobos’ label Sei Es Drum and the much hyped ‘Standing’ EP on Cecille Records.
His rework is epic, gaining a new atmosphere and layering intricate patterns of sound proving with each release how his musical ability seems to strengthen.
Craig Torrance, a flame-haired Scot originally from Glasgow but now based in London, first caught the techno bug by regularly attending all-night raves back in the early nineties. With a life immersed in underground music, a job in the dance music industry and a real party ethic, he is gradually developing into one of the underground London scene’s freshest talents.
Philip Hochstrate is Craig's production partner and flatmate, hailing from Berlin he graduated from both Berlin then London's Academies of Music with distinction. A trained Jazz musician and composer, Philip has also been a successful songwriter for pop acts across the globe.
This production follows collaborations of the duo on Moodmusic and Four:Twenty but this release is quite special. Destined to soar into new audiences and have bare feet tapping on sandy shores and darkened dancefloors for the months to come.
Tom Demac
'Stand Beside Me EP'
Side A1: Stand Beside Me
Side A2: Three By Four
Side B1: Stand Beside Me (Glimpse Remix)
Side B2: Stand Beside Me (Geddes Dub)
‘Stand Beside Me’ picks up the pace for murmur records, a new introduction for artists Tom Demac, Glimpse and the first sample of label manager Geddes.
Gathering inspiration from the surrounding landscape, a big dose of detroit techno, as well as influxes of electronica, dub and jazz, Tom Demac writes and records live electronic music from the soul. He has developed his own characteristic sound based on a philosophy of creating music aimed at the dance-floor.
The Stand Beside Me EP lives up to this reputation and is destined to throw him further into the spotlight weaving across Demac’s distinguished sound. Daring and disjointed yet invitingly groovy, the title track ‘Stand Beside Me’ has hints of electronica through to new-age disco. ‘Three by Four’ shows more unruly workings, its throbbing heart of a bassline and simple melody shakes up the senses.
To those who know him, Glimpse is one of the UK’s best and most underrated producers. Carl Craig’s Planet E, Leftroom, Four:Twenty and now murmur all agree and have offered a platform for his recent releases. His remix of ‘Stand Beside Me’ switches the flavour, pinning down the house elements and giving an old school kick.
As the founder of the murmur record imprint, Geddes has held off for this pinnacle package to offer his debut on remix duties. Maintaining the menacing undertone his working smoothes the edges and enhances the groove depicting his trademark deep and pensive style.
After spending the last few years in Manchester and Barcelona, Tom Demac has returned to the picturesque setting of his native North Wales to nestle into his studio. The products of which have appeared on labels such as Four:Twenty, Hypercolour and Glimpse Recordings.
murmur has found a counterpart in this rising UK star and their partnership promises to deliver further revelations from both in the future.
Nick Curly
'Critical Mass EP'
Side A: Critical Mass
Side B1: Kalimba (Geddes Mix)
Side B2: Kalimba
Nick Curly has been going from strength to strength recently, mainly because of his excellent remixes croppin' up where you least expect them. Here he delivers a solid ep of minimal percu-house for Murmur - the london based imprint, run by Mulletover head-honcho Stuart Geddes who also provides a killer remix on the flip.

Nima Gorji
'The Gypsy Way EP'
Side A1: Hopp Hopp
Side A2: Shing A Ling
Side B1: Hopp Hopp (Einzelkind Remix)
Digital Only: Gamma
The lucky number seven brings about two new artists for the next murmur release and one of their strongest EPs to date. ‘The Gypsy Way’ conjures up the spirit of setting out alone and going against the grain.
Nima Gorji brings many multi-coloured influences into this EP, both in sound and name. ‘Hopp Hopp’ and ‘Shing A Ling’’ are two exotic tracks, both soothing and bright. Filled with drifting melodies and rolling percussion, these tracks are full of carefree optimism.
Einzelkind’s remix turns the tables. Taking the laid-back groove of ‘Hopp Hopp’ further into the dancefloor, it squeezes in more latin flavour. The digital release will also feature ‘Gamma’, a lively bonus track to this delightful package.
Nima Gorji is the son of a live musician, born in Iran his interest in music started early. Resettling in Denmark after studies at music school, Nima has carved his own way in the music world across continents. Achieving great success in Scandinavia through his own production and events, he has gone on to be nominated as Best Ibiza DJ in the 10th Edition of the DJ Awards in 2007 for his long-term residency at Space, Ibiza. As a producer, Nima always sticks to his roots, creating magical hypnotic loops full of deepness.
Einzelkind aka Arno Völker and Miguel Ayala were born and raised in Cuba, where they grew up in family of 17. When they came to Germany one of the first words they learned was "Einzelkind" (only child). Being totally alien to the concept of growing up alone, they took it as their project name and tried to adapt to their new surroundings. It was hard at first, but with a little help from their new made friends at Get Physical and other labels, they had much success and without losing any of their original identity.
Voodoo was a vital part of the upbringing of Einzelkind and still holds a strong influence in the pair’s lives. They often record their shaman rituals and use them as samples in their tracks giving them a heavy spiritual feel. ‘The Gypsy Way’ holds much of this mysticism, pulling the listener in with its charm and spirit.

Tom Demac
'Prima Donna EP'
Side A: Prima Donna
Side B1: Prima Donna (Seuil Remix)
Digital Only: It Ends Lower
Tom Demac returns for his second release on murmur with the delicious 'Prima Donna' EP, complete with a remix from Seuil.
murmur are proud to be unleashing ‘Prima Donna’ from Tom Demac. One of our favourite new young producers has produced an EP with hints of nostalgia, harking back to an innocent age of electronic music, while also giving an insight into a sound of our future.
Welsh-born Tom Demac has been picked up by a string of labels for his outstanding productions skills in the past year. His ability to fuse a variety of styles and influences into an original and admired sound has gathered a great deal of attention.
'It Ends Lower' will be released digitally only for the package, a cascading trail of techno for lovers of deep and friendly music. ‘Prima Donna’ has been remixed by another fresh and newly discovered talent, Seuil.
Famed for the groove in his music, Seuil unites the dark rolling flourishes into a modern shaking house sound. His heavy bass and obscure sounds produce a great rework of the track.
Seuil broke into the electronic world and emerged as a figure to impress in 2006. Growing up on Reunion Island, a tropical French-colonised resort, he relocated to Paris 7 years ago to explore his interest in the electronic sound. Classically trained at piano, jazz and blues formation, and percussion he is able to build a complex sound structure to his compositions.
Approaching a year of releases, the murmur label has built a discerning reputation and sealed a place as new favourites.

Geddes & Alex Jones
'Paper Weight EP'
Side A: Tubular
Side B1: Zeiss
Side B2: Tubular (Lauhaus remix)
‘Paper Weight’ EP is a collaboration from murmur label-head Geddes and London talent, Alex Jones. Complete with a Lauhaus remix, this package contains all the elements of a winning formula.
The rolling vibes of 'Tubular' engulf the listener with organic sounds. Complete with head-rolling breakdown, this track packs a huge punch. Lauhaus' mix reveals a more emotional side, emitting some exotic flavour and deep house-led atmospheres. 'Zeiss' is scientifically born to move bodies with an intoxicating groove.
The latest chapter of the murmur story is a first collaboration between Geddes and Alex Jones. Each track brings together Geddes' passion for deep, profound and organic sounds, alongside Alex's more dramatic peak time sounds. Rounding off the EP is a remix from Amsterdam's white-hot Lauhaus.
The musical director behind London's mulletover parties, at the forefront of London's underground music scene producer, and also a DJ and promoter, Geddes shares a love and personal vision for house music. He founded the murmur label with David O last year and has delivered a flourishing and exciting project wholly embraced by the underground audience through supporting unknown, local talent alongside musical peers and always delivering maximum quality in the sound. As a producer, Geddes has a string of productions under the Rekleiner guise (one being a debut release on murmur), remixes and co/solo productions on labels such as Connaisseur, Moodmusic, Infant and Tsuba, each showcasing a love for dubby, ethereal beats and melodies.
Alex Jones is seriously one of the brightest lights in house music in the UK. A resident DJ at the legendary Big Beat Boutique alongside an emerging Radio Slave, Jones has since established himself as a versatile yet focused DJ who delivers sharp, modern house and techno with a distinctly trippy edge. The mind behind the UK's top Hypercolour label alongside close friend Jamie Russell, Alex has released many EPs Viva Music, Glimpse Recordings, Tiga's Turbo imprint and for his own label.
Amsterdam-based DJ and producer, Lauhaus (Laurens Lanting), is one of the twosome inspirations of 'POLDER', and part of six-sided crazy communal laptop collective 'Amsterdam 611'. The solo Lauhaus act has also coined him as one of the important and respected players in the constantly growing and influential Amsterdam scene with releases on Cocoon, Remote Area, 2020 vision and Intacto Records. His sound is broad: productions made with a blend of house and techno, always striving for the clash between the genres to produce an exhilarating sound with an analogous feel.

Inxec & Matt Tolfrey
'Mile 569 EP'
Side A: Jerk
Side B: Bring It
‘Mile 569’ EP is a debut release on murmur from two huge UK talents - Inxec & Matt Tolfrey, with the follow up to their recent high profile release on Cocoon.
'Jerk' is a spine-tingling creation, with an irresistible bassline which pulls on the sensations of the listener. 'Bring It' is a lethal dancefloor weapon, made for peak time moments and etching a groove into your skin. Chopping up samples and infectious beats, this is the sound of coming summer moments.
"Both these tracks came together pretty quickly, some great ideas at first with vocals and groove ideas, and then just some solid work in the studio. They are both pushing towards the new sound we are after and everytime we both play them the reaction is pretty special. I am sure they are going to be the main players in our live set being organised for after the summer!!!" Inxec & Matt Tolfrey.
The second co-production from Matt Tolfrey & Inxec, two best friends that have emerged as hot producers on the techno radar, follows a huge release on Cocoon earlier this year. The follow up is yet more enticing, made for murmur due to a strong friendship with the label figurehead, Geddes, while also giving their own strong support to their home UK scene.
Cutting a two metre shadow, with blue eyes and red hair – it’s not hard to miss the sky scraping figure of Inxec. Inxec produces music from his beloved house right through to heart breaking, thought inspiring mood sections for national radio plays. There is no stop button in sight. Early signings included releases for labels such as Distinctive and Renaissance before settling as Inxec on Jay Haze's Contexterrior records. Now a frequent DJ and live act across the globe, and with a recent residency at Munich's Harry Klein club, Inxec is becoming a definitive name worldwide.
Matt Tolfrey is a workaholic with a seemingly tireless dedication to forging his own unique style and bringing life to the scene around him. An energetic DJ, talented producer and manager of the Leftroom label, he is not afraid to put his soul into his goals and his enthusiasm shines through. The youngest DJ to ever play at Fabric, he continues to push boundaries and conquer more than many would dream of. Drawing on everything from deep house and techno, through to stripped down beats and melodic mayhem, Matt has spawned his own hybrid strain of electronic funk.
