RELEASE // state02

After murmur encapsulated the nofitstate warehouse vibe in their recent expertly crafted double CD, now comes a tasty sampler that reveals two edges of the deep house sound that the label champions.
The A side is safely taken care of by Glimpse's driving rework of 'That's The Thing' by the humble and gifted Australian producer Lewie Day. The track was the first release on offshoot label murmur-? and won the hearts of many with its monster groove, laidback house swing and vintage sampling. In the remix here, Glimpse vamps up the balmy grooves of the original and switches up the bass to deliver a killer late night workout to satisfy the most discerning tangled crowd. Glimpse always brings his certified raw substance to any project and continues to be one of the most revered producers on the London block.
On the flip, James What embraces the warm classic house sound whilst bestowing his own characteristic grace and grit. 'Going Back' is a fluid yet tightly weaved slice of deep that glides through sexy stripped back grooves, building to an emotive rise of soaring synths. House with an edgy romance is what James What does best. Growing up in France, James relocated to London to study music and has since become part of one of the most successful underground live acts on the global circuit, Berkson & What. Now embarking on a sideline solo career with an esteemed debut release for Crosstown Rebels under his belt, the artist's ascent looks set to endure.
Expanding from the murmur label, nofitstate started life as a string of well-cultivated events, mainly occurring in murmur's London base but also shaping special occasions outside of England's capital, such as Miami's WMC. With Geddes at the helm it has gained a loyal following through the finest selection of guests and acute attention to details. The full-length mix CD paid homage to the atmosphere of those parties and the resounding authenticity of the sound. Cherry picked for the sampler, both of these compelling tracks are destined for the boxes of the most discerning DJs.
